Open Question: Google search will not remove my images (cached and gstatic)?!?

I found out about two months ago that another blog had wrongfully taken my blog content and is/was profiting off of it.

I reported this to the webmaster of the other blog site that was stealing my content and they have yet to get back to me. I then reported this to google because I noticed that the url was being traced back to google (anyhow).

The only thing google did was make some of them into gstatic files with a 404 for the main page.

The problem is that you can still see the thumbnail and picture when searching.

So yeah, it's still searchable.

How long will googlebot take to remove it? And, I don't know if this matters but, I completely shut down my blog due to this incident yet my content is still floating around. Will googlebot still notice that no one is able to access it and then remove it from search?

Also, what else can I do? I don't get why the other party is refusing to take MY CONTENT DOWN.
